Rough Patches Cat Rescue is our affiliate community aide program.
Since we began taking in strays in 2022 we’ve been dedicated to getting our more vulnerable furry friends off the streets and into loving homes. With the support our our community we’ve been able to directly rehome over 10 strays in our 2 years of operations, as well as finding lost cats and providing support to those in our community.
We have a commitment to help as much as we can, and with the support of people like you, we can expand our operation to help more and more stray and lost cats just going through a
rough patch!
Patchwork “Patches” Chimera
Patchwork Chimera, often called Patches or Patty, began her story with us outside of a fried chicken restaurant.
Her fur was patchy, lending to her name, and despite having access to chicken scraps, she was skinny and unwell.
She was such a friendly stray that you’d be forgiven for thinking she might have a loving home, except for all the missing fur. Patty was sitting by the bus stop, chatting up a stranger waiting for the bus. I asked the stranger if he knew this cat, seeing the shape she was in, to which he clearly stated she was a new face to him as well.
So I did the only thing I could at that point; I stuffed her into my backpack so she couldn’t get loose into the road and brought her home. In the following weeks we asked around, but no one claimed her, and as she got better, and BIGGER we realized she was carrying passengers on board as well!
In October 2022, Patty gave birth to 5
healthy kittens. If we weren’t all in
before, seeing this tiny lives safe inside
as the weather was getting colder and
colder was more than enough to set
our course.
Patty and all her kittens are currently living in loving homes, something made possible with the support of friends and family as well as our community!
-
Duke
7yo Brown Tabby
Duke was found living under a porch having a very rough winter. He’s very shy and calm, but very loving to those who take the time to earn his trust.
Duke will be available for adoption in the coming months. -
Tina
3+yo Silver Tabby
Tina was found on the streets with her Daughter Bean. She was so small at the time we thought they were sisters! Tina has since become a mother again to 4 more beautiful kittens. Tina is a loving companion who spends much of her time lounging in the window. She can be very territorial and would do best in a home without other pets.
Tina will be available for adoption in the coming months. -
Bean
10mo Silver White Tabby
Bean was found alongside her mother Tina. Young and inquisitive, Bean was very friendly and waited patiently with her mother for the rescue team to respond. Bean has big kitten energy and loves to run and play with other cats. She’s still learning where is and isn’t okay to go, but she’s a sweetheart and is trying.
Bean will be available for adoption in the coming months.
